Altium grows team

Investment banking group Altium has added Jeremy Grime and Karen Irons (both research analysts) and William Preston (sales trader) to its team.

Jeremy Grime, who will be covering the specialist financials sector, joins Altium’s equity research team from Williams de Broe and prior to that Collins Stewart. From 1996 to 2001 he was a fund manager with Morley, managing £450m of smaller company pension and retail funds. He started his career at Deloitte and Touche’s specialist insurance division, where he trained as a chartered accountant.

Karen Irons is also joining Altium’s equity research team covering smaller companies. She spent eight years at Rothschild before moving to Credit Suisse Asset Management with responsibility for the Smaller Companies Fund. In 1999 she returned to Rothschild as head of UK Smaller Companies. More recently she has been undertaking fund manager research and portfolio construction as an investment director at John Scott & Partners.

William Preston joins Altium as a sales trader from Abbey National Asset Managers. He also worked for a number of leading fund managers including Edinburgh Fund Managers and Scottish Amicable Investment Managers.

Garry Levin, managing director at Altium, said: “These key appointments bring a wealth of experience that will be beneficial to both our clients and our business as we seek to maintain the momentum we have established over the last year.”
