Bridges Community wins

Bridges Community Ventures, the UK’s first community development venture capital company, has received the GP Capital Investor Allstars award for the ‘New Venture Capital Fund of the Year.’ The firm was short-listed as one of six companies including, Enterprise Ventures, Scottish Enterprise Glasgow, EonTech, London Seed Capital and Pentech Ventures.

Michele Giddens, director of Bridges Community Ventures, said: “We are excited to receive this award because we hope to blaze a trail for a whole new set of private equity funds; funds that invest for a social purpose as well as a profit. We are already seeing interest from others in setting up community development and other socially-driven funds in the UK.”
