BS Private Equity sells Klopman

Indian fabric manufacturer S Kumars has acquired Klopman, an Italian fabric manufacturer, for a sum of €70m (US$107m). The deal represented an exit for private equity group BS Private Equity, which sold its controlling stake.

The realisation of its investment in Klopman follows a string of exits for Italian specialist buyout player BS Private Equity. In April, it sold portfolio companies Radici Film and Sicurglobal.

Klopman produces textiles used in work-wear, protective wear and general clothing at its facilities in Italy and Tunisia. Its customers include Toyota, Michelin and Ikea. In 2007, Klopman posted sales of €125m.

S Kumars completed the acquisition through its wholly-owned subsidiary MW Corp.

Studio Legale Delfino e Associati and Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP adivsed MW Corp with Compass Rondelli Advisers and NCTM acting for BS Private Equity.
