Carlyle to bag De La Rue division

US private equity group Carlyle is close to acquiring the cash systems division of UK-based banknote printer De La Rue, according to reports. The deal is believed to value the division, being sold by Rothschild, at between £300m – £400m (US$683m – US$780m).

It is understood that fellow financial buyers KKR and Bain Capital and trade buyer Wincor Nixdorf were also interested in the asset.

The deal is expected to complete by the end of the month.
