Chart of the Week: Healthcare is biggest market for PE-backed M&A exits so far in 2014

From a market share point of view, the healthcare industry was the largest sector for M&A exits by deal volume with $14.1 billion (22 percent). High technology and consumer staples were the next largest sectors with $11.9 billion and $9.8 billion respectively. (For a PDF version of the chart, click the link at right.)
