Corbett Keeling appts

Corbett Keeling has appointed three new associates, John Herring, Jamie McGrigor and Robert Murphy. Herring has worked in corporate finance for the last 20 years. He was a corporate finance director at Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and, more recently, at Smith & Williamson. He has extensive experience of M&A and fund raising through flotations and private equity. He is also a director of a number of listed and unlisted companies, including JD Wetherspoon, the managed pub operator, and Kensington Group, the mortgage provider.

McGrigor has worked in consulting for the last 20 years, the first six with Bain & Co. Since then, he has focused on both financial advisory and general consulting activities. Two years ago he started his own consulting firm providing general consultancy in the healthcare and financial services sector. He continues to run that firm and will work with Corbett Keeling on assignments that require financial advice as opposed to general consulting.

Murphy started his career as an analyst with James Capel and then qualified as a chartered accountant with Deloitte & Touche. He subsequently spent 17 years in the software and IT service sector as an investment, corporate development and managing director. He has been involved extensively in raising private equity, M&A, flotations and arranging successful exits for backers, as well as strategic and general management. He will focus his activities on raising funds for Corbett Keeling’s clients from the private equity community and on assisting clients in developing M&A strategies.
