Dechert in Munich

Dechert LLP has opened an office in Munich. It is the firm’s second office in Germany and its 17th worldwide. Private equity lawyer Federico Pappalardo, banking lawyer Wolfgang Althaus and labour lawyer Olaf Fasshauer will lead the office.

Pappalardo is the managing partner of the Munich office and specialises in private equity, venture capital and corporate buyouts.

Althaus represents French and Italian banks operating in Germany and is an advisor to Banca d’Italia, the Italian Central Bank. Fasshauer specialises in labour and general corporate law.

The new Munich office will enhance Dechert’s private equity and finance capabilities in Europe, and continues the firm’s German expansion following the Frankfurt office opening last year and the recruitment of Laurenti Kiszczuk as a Frankfurt-based private equity and international M&A partner in September this year.

Dechert has also recruited a new partner to its London office. Mark Davis has joined the firm’s international corporate practice and will specialise in private equity and corporate work. He was previously a senior associate specialising in private equity at Ashurst in London. He has broad experience of advising on private equity investments and exits, LBOs, restructurings and other M&A work in the UK and internationally.
