EVCA appoints tax chair

The European Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (EVCA) has appointed Fabio Brunelli as the new chairman of EVCA’s Tax & Legal Committee.

Brunelli is a partner at Italian accountancy firm Di Tanno e Associati, and has been a member of the Committee for more than a decade. He succeeds Ulf Söderholm, managing partner of Nordic law firm Andulf Advokat AB.

Bernard Peeters a partner of Belgian law firm Tiberghien has been appointed to the new role of Vice-Chairman.

The Committee provides analysis to EVCA members on the tax and legal environment for private equity and venture capital across Europe. The Committee has also been influential on EVCA papers such as the “Benchmarking Tax and Legal Environments” and the “Private Equity Fund Structures in Europe”. The Committee supports EVCA’s public and regulatory affairs activities, in compiling evidence and information for policymakers and regulators.

The newly appointed chairman has been an equity partner at Di Tanno e Associati since 1998. He has experience in providing tax advice to private equity and venture capital funds both domestically and internationally. His experience includes fund formation, corporate finance, and M&A transactions.

He is a member of the European Commission’s Expert Group on the Removal of Tax Obstacles to Cross-Border Venture Capital Investments and a member of the International Fiscal Association. Dr Brunelli is counsel to the Italian real-estate industry association Assoimmobiliare and an active member of the Italian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association, AIFI.
