Former Adobe CEO Chizen joins Voyager

Seattle-based Voyager Capital announced late last week that Bruce Chizen, who two years ago stepped down as CEO of Adobe Systems, has joined the early stage firm as a venture partner. He will work in the firm’s Menlo Park, Calif.-based office.

Chizen became an advisor to Voyager last year when he took a board seat on Elemental Technologies, a Voyager-funded startup in Portland, Ore., that develops parallel video processing technology.

Chizen is the latest hire at the firm, which raised more than $106 million for its third early stage fund in 2006. In nearly the past two years, Voyager has brought on board Daniel Ahn in Menlo Park, Diane Fraiman in Portland, Ore., and Geoff Entress in Seattle.

Olkkola joins Teakwood

Ed Olkkola has joined Teakwood Capital as managing director. Previously, he was senior vice president of new products and business development at A. H. Belo Corp. Prior to A.H. Belo, Olkkola was a general partner at Austin Ventures for nine years. Dallas-based Teakwood says that it is currently raising its second private equity fund.

Lincoln taps Radecki to head restructuring group

Joe Radecki has joined Lincoln International as a managing director and head of the firm’s U.S. restructuring and special situations group. He previously led restructuring groups at such banks as Jefferies, CIBC and Piper Jaffray.

Advent adds McShane

Michael McShane has joined Advent International as an operating partner, with a focus on the oil and gas services and equipment sectors. McShane is the former chairman and CEO of Grant Prideco.

Murthy heads over to 3i

Sundip Murthy has joined 3i Group as a principal in its North American growth equity practice. He previously was a vice president with The Carlyle Group and, before that, was with Ripplewood Holdings.

Navigation nabs EIRs

John Ausura and Steve Contardi have joined Navigation Capital Partners as executives-in-residence. They will focus on acquiring a contract manufacturing company for green cleaning products.

Gabriel promotes Chou

Gabriel Venture Partners has promoted Scott Chou to managing director. He joined the firm in 2000 and has led such deals as STEP Labs, NextG Networks, Boston-Power and SkyCross.

Evergreen branches out

Steve Wiesner has joined Evergreen Pacific Partners as a senior vice president. He will open a Los Angeles office for the Seattle-based firm. Weisner previously was a director at Lincoln International.

Marcus moves to OpenView

Adam Marcus has joined OpenView Venture Partners as a principal. He previously was a senior associate with Battery Ventures.

McCombie joins CBPE

Rob McCombie has joined CBPE Capital, a U.K.-based mid-market private equity firm, as an investment manager. He previously was with BC Partners.

Blackstone hires Cohen

Peter Cohen has joined The Blackstone Group as head of its global media advisory practice. He previously was with J.P. Morgan, where he focused on the publishing and information services markets.

Thomas Weisel hires Allard

Matthew Allard has joined Thomas Weisel Partners Group as a managing director focused on financial sponsors. He previously served in the same position with Banc of America Securities.

Allsopp joins placement agent

Richard Allsopp has agreed to join fund placement and secondary advisory Campbell Lutyens as a partner. He is the former global head of private equity funds with UBS, which he left last year to form an internal fund-raising operation at Babcock & Brown.
