Cox acquires Adify for $300MCox Enterprises Inc. has agreed to acquire Adify, a San Bruno, Calif.-based online advertising network. The deal is valued at $300 million. Adify has raised about $27 million in VC funding since late 2006 from such firms as U.S. Venture Partners, Venrock, GE Commercial Finance, NBC Universal and Time Warner Investments.

Sonic shoots for Simple StarSonic Solutions (Nasdaq: SNIC) has acquired Simple Star Inc., a San Francisco-based developer of a multimedia storytelling platform and online community. No financial terms were disclosed. Simple Star had raised just over $10 million in VC funding from Venrock and individual investors.

Comptel buys AxiomComptel has acquired Axiom Systems, a U.K.-based software developer focused on the broadband fulfilment mark. No financial terms were disclosed. Axiom Systems had raised about $30 million in venture capital funding from such firms as Geocapital Partners and HgCapital.
