Exponent expands

Exponent Private Equity has appointed five new investment professionals and a finance director. Simon Baines, Kris Cudmore, Jack Edmondson, Arthur Mornington and Richard Lenane join as investment professionals and Craig Vickery joins as finance director.

Simon Baines joins from Bain & Company where he has worked since 1995 and during which time he completed an MBA at Insead. His role included strategy development for clients as well as operational improvement, merger integration and organisational change.

Kris Cudmore worked at Booz Allen and Hamilton, and Roland Berger Strategy Consultants where he was manager on due diligence, corporate strategy and cost reduction projects. He also co-founded his own software company in 2000.

Jack Edmondson joins from McKinsey where he worked in the corporate finance and strategy practice. He has also worked as an equity analyst and assistant portfolio manager at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and has an MBA from Said Business School, Oxford.

Richard Lenane joins Exponent from Apax Partners where he was a member of the Leveraged Transaction Group focusing on media. He worked on the £2.1bn acquisition and £3.3bn IPO of Yell, among other things. Prior to that he worked at the Boston Consulting Group and has an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Arthur Mornington joins from BC Partners where he was involved in various large MBOs. He has also worked at Bain & Company and will join Exponent in June after completing an MBA from Columbia Business School, New York.

Craig Vickery joins Exponent as finance director from PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was an assistant director in the corporate finance and recovery team. He is a qualified chartered accountant.
