FormFactor IPO Offers VC-Backed Hope

Like baseball players hunkered in a dugout during a rain delay, venture capitalists have been keeping a close eye on the gloomy IPO skies. Now that the sun is peaking out, the players are starting to make their way back onto the field.

For the first four months of the year, just a single venture-backed company was able to go public – Accredited Home Lenders (NASDAQ: LEND), which provides wholesale mortgage services. Then iPayment (NASDAQ: IPMT), which processes credit cards, hit a home run in May, and semiconductor testing material maker FormFactor (NASDAQ: FORM) knocked it out of the park on June 12.
