Further launch from Vesta Group

Vesta FinanceVentures is the latest company to be launched from the Vesta Group, it follows hot on the heels of Vesta Wireless Work, (see evcj November issue). Vesta FinanceVentures is the latest to join the band of emerging European financial services venture capital investors. Vesta FinanceVentures’ remit is to invest in and build companies that apply new technologies to modernise and bring efficiencies to selected aspects of the financial services industry. These selected areas are; asset management, financial markets, wholesale insurance, and the provision of financial services for SMEs.

Heading Vesta FinanceVentures are Fields Wicker-Miurin, who is a board director of Vesta Group and was formerly the director of finance and strategy at the London Stock Exchange, head of the global financial markets practice at AT Kearney and one time named by Euromoney as one of the top 50 women in finance, and John Townsend. Townsend’s past acolades include directorships at Gartmore Capital and Mercury Asset Management and the head of business development at Citibank Global Asset Management. Enabling technologies that drive payments, transactions and information flows, together with technologies that enable disintermediation, empowerment and greater security and validation are of particular interest.

Joining Vesta Wireless Works and Vesta FinanceVentures in the Vesta Group are Vesta Ventures a wireless and other selected industries investor that also focuses on assisting US-based entrepreneurs and companies roll out across Europe Vesta Capital Partners a wireless/Internet focused venture capital fund, and e-start, a technology business accelerator.
