Grant Thornton appts

Business and financial adviser Grant Thornton has appointed Ian Luder as partner in the London tax practice. Luder joins from Andersen where he headed the private client and professional practices group for over ten years. A chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser, Luder was president of the Chartered Institute of Taxation in 1994/1995. He has specialised in advising professional practices for much of his career and was the lead tax partner on a number of major UK and US international

law firms.

Grant Thornton has also appointed corporate recovery professional Steve Akers as partner within its recovery and reorganisation services practice. Akers joins from Deloitte & Touche where he has worked for the past 25 years, 13 as partner. He will focus on major and complex insolvency work. He will be based in London, where he will join the existing team of over 160 professional staff who specialise in providing corporate recovery and structuring advice to distressed businesses and their financial stakeholders.
