GTCR Promotes Four, Loses One –

Chicago-based GTCR Golder Rauner LLC last month promoted Ethan Budin, Chuck Glew and Vincent Hemmer to principals and Constantine (“Dean”) Mihas to the position of vice president of the firm.

The promotions come in the wake of Partner William Kessinger‘s flee to open the West Coast office of Parthenon Capital.

Budin joined GTCR in 1998 after serving as a principal at New York-based Leeds Equity Group. Budin also had stints at Lazard Freres and the Boston Consulting Group. Glew joined GTCR in 1998 after working at Sun Microsystems and serving as an associate at Summit Partners. Hemmer joined GTCR in 1996 after having previously worked with the Monitor Company, a Boston-based consulting firm. Mihas joined GTCR in June of 2001 after serving as co-founder and CEO of Delray Farms, and as an associate at McKinsey & Co.

“Ethan, Chuck and Vince have all demonstrated outstanding performance and are well deserving of this promotion,” said Managing Principal Bruce Rauner. “GTCR now has 13 principals in our organization, and we are proud of the growth we have achieved in the last decade.”

Some recent deals that the firm has been involved with include a $100 million infusion of capital to Alliant Resources Group Inc., an insurance brokerage and financial services provider (Buyouts June 18) and the sale of its portfolio company, Cambridge Protection Industries, an electronic security services company, for approximately $1 billion in cash to ADT Security Services (Buyouts June 4).
