HarbourVest has promoted eight of its 43 investment professionals. Brett A Gordon, Julia E Hupman, and Karin Lagerlund have been named vice presidents of the firm. Hannah F Tobin, Scott C Voss, and Christopher J Walker have been promoted to senior associate. John M Fiato and Jeffrey R Keay have been promoted to associate.
Gordon, formerly a senior associate, joined the firm in 1998 after graduating summa cum laude from the MBA programme at Babson College.
Hupman, formerly a senior associate, joined the firm in February 2001. She previously served as a director of the investment banking group for AEW Capital Management, an investment management firm specializing in real estate investments, where she managed third-party financing transactions for the firm’s investment portfolio.
Lagerlund joined HarbourVest Partners in 2000 as controller. Prior to joining the firm, she spent seven years at AEW Capital Management as the head of the portfolio accounting group Tobin, formerly an associate, has been with the team since 1996. She previously assisted in running her family’s business in Dublin, Ireland.
Voss, formerly an associate, joined the firm in 1999 after graduating with distinction from the MBA programme at Babson College. Previously, he managed international sales and distribution for the Cannondale Corporation, a leading manufacturer of bicycles and cycling accessories.
Walker, formerly an associate, joined the firm in 1998 after graduating from the Masters in Science and Finance programme at Boston College. Previously, he served as a pilot in the US Navy, flying the P-3 Orion aircraft, and achieved the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
Fiato, formerly an investment analyst, joined the team in 1994. Prior to becoming an investment professional, he was a senior fund accountant with HarbourVest.
Keay, formerly an investment analyst, joined the firm in 1999 after three years at Ernst & Young, LLP specialising in the venture capital and financial services industries and serving on the audit of HarbourVest.
