Israel Lands Investment Bank

Its already turning out to be a hot summer in Israel. Just weeks after a group of Silicon Valley venture capitalists returned from a weeklong tour of the country and Siemens Venture Capital opened up shop there, a New York-based investment bank said it would set up camp there, as well.

C.E. Unterberg Towbin, an investment bank that specializes in launching technology, health care and security companies, has opened up shop in Israel. The bank has been working with Israeli startups since the 1980s, managing IPOs and follow-on offerings for a number of Israeli companies.

Investment banker Mark Green will lead the banks effort.

Green has spent the last 10 years in Israel. Before joining C.E. Unterberg, Towbin, he was with Citigroup Investment Banking, where he focused on the semiconductor, storage, security and software industries.
