The European Commission has granted regulatory clearance to L&G Ventures joint acquisition of IWP International plc’s household business, all of which are UK companies.
Legal & General Limited, a subsidiary of the Legal & General Group Plc, has entered into a joint venture agreement with IWP International plc, whereby the parties will jointly control the existing IWP Household business which is active in the manufacture, marketing and sale of household and industrial cleaning and hygiene products.
Legal & General currently holds a controlling interest in CPL Industries Ltd, which has limited activities in relation to three products that are also supplied by IWP Household, namely the wholesale supply of charcoal, ignition products and fire logs.
But the Commission’s investigation showed that the overlap of IWP and CPL activities would not give rise to competition concerns in any of the product markets concerned.
