Mannheimer Swartling ups PE

Swedish law firm Mannheimer Swartling is strengthening its private equity group in response to the expansion of the sector. Additional members have joined the team from other practise areas in the firm and the group will have greater access to other specialists with skills relevant to the sector. The size of the private equity practise has been doubled to more than 45 lawyers, 20 of which are partners.

The group monitors the market continuously, from a commercial as well as a legal perspective. The firm cites increasing sophistication in the private equity market in the last year and an anticipated increase in activity levels as the reasons for expanding its team. The private equity group will be able to draw on additional resources in the form of specialists from other key areas such as tax law, M&A and securities.
