The latest fundraising figure includes about $48.1 billion that was obtained during the latest quarter. Some of the period’s activities include the final close of Ares Management LLC’s Ares Corporate Opportunities Fund IV LP at its $4.7 billion hard cap and the completion of Oak Hill Advisors LP’s OHA European Strategic Credit Fund LP at $1.35 billion.
Deal Volume
The quarter’s addition to deal volume was about $14.6 billion, which is less than the $29.7 billion for the second quarter, but an improvement from the $13.3 billion of the first quarter.
Avista Capital Partners LP completed one of the latest period’s top transactions. Its Wow Internet, Cable & Phone portfolio company purchased cable operator Knology Inc. in mid-July and the deal had a rank value of about $1.4 billion. Another of the period’s large deals was the purchase of Interline Brands Inc. for about $1.1 billion by a special purpose acquisition vehicle formed by GS Capital Partners LP and P2 Capital Partners.
