Thomson Reuters, publishers of Buyouts, tracked 48 transactions involving U.S.-based financial sponsors from January 6 to January 17. Of these, eight disclosed financial terms with a combined value of over $2 billion.

The largest deal to close in the period was the acquisition of Siemens Water Technologies Corp, an Alpharetta- based provider of water and wastewater treatment services, by AEA Investors LP for about $865 million in cash in a leveraged buyout transaction.

An investor group comprised of CITIC Capital Partners Ltd,China Broadband Capital Partners II LP, Edward Tian, and Temasek Holdings Ltd, merged with AsiaInfo-Linkage Inc, a Beijing-based provider of application management and support services, for 73.758 yuan ($12) in cash per share, for a total value of 5.377 billion yuan ($874.85 million) in a leveraged buyout transaction.
