PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Adams Street Partners hired Fred Wang as a partner and member of its ASP Capital investment team. Wang joins the firm from Trinity Ventures, where he served as a general partner and managing partner responsible for investments, certain aspects of leadership and management, fundraising, and LP relationships.

Blackstone: Alan Kerr is stepping down from his role as senior managing director at the credit arm, GSO Capital Partners.

Carlyle Group retained Roger Fradin as an operating executive consultant for its industrial and transportation team. Fradin is former vice chairman of Honeywell International.

Frazier Healthcare Partners named Ryan Lucero vice president. Lucero previously focused on leveraged buyout and growth equity investments at Kohlberg & Co. In addition, Krishna Polu joined Frazier’s life sciences operating professional team as an entrepreneur-in-residence with Hawkeye Therapeutics. Polu previously served as chief medical officer at Raptor Pharmaceuticals until its acquisition by Horizon Pharmaceuticals in 2016.

HarbourVest Partners named Tricia M. Mackechnie chief technology officer and managing director. Mackechnie was senior vice president and CIO for The Hartford.

Hirtle Callaghan, the West Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, investment firm  opened an office in San Francisco and named Dan Eagan as a director in its portfolio management group. Eagan, who will be based in San Francisco, previously was a managing director at Alliance Bernstein.

JMC Capital Partners hired Todd Rainville as a partner. Previously, Rainville was a partner at Symmetric Capital. His resume also includes tenures at Summit Partners and Ampersand Capital Partners.

Luzzatto Co, a real estate investment firm, named Asher Luzzatto vice president and general counsel. Previously, Luzzatto was an attorney at Pircher, Nichols & Meeks.

NXT Capital: Linda Chaffin joined as head of institutional marketing. Most recently, Chaffin was senior vice president at Pathway Capital Management.

ShoreView Industries named Peter Zimmerman a principal. Zimmerman previously was with Sentinel Capital Partners.

Talara Capital Management named Jeff Gutke a managing director. Gutke is a former director at Denham Capital.

Waud Capital appointed Dave Prendergast vice president of business development. Previously, Prendergast was vice president at Great Point Partners.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Care Advantage, which is backed by BelHealth Investment Partners, appointed Brian Farnum chief financial officer. Previously, Farnum was CFO at ZP Group.

Radial, which is backed by Sterling Partners, named Matthew J. Espe chief executive. Previously, Espe was president and CEO at Armstrong World Industries. Radial is an omnichannel commerce technology and operations provider for retailers and brands.

Reiss, the British fashion retailer majority owned by Warburg Pincus, named former Next executive Christos Angelides chief executive.

STX Entertainment, the media company, hired Andrew Warren as chief financial officer. Warren previously was senior executive vice president and CFO at Discovery Communications. STX’s backers include TPG Growth, Hony Capital and DNS Capital. In addition, the STXdigital unit of STX Entertainment named Rich Sullivan chief operating officer. Prior to joining STX, Sullivan was deputy chief financial officer at DreamWorks Animation.

SunSource, backed by Littlejohn & Co, named David Sacher CEO. He had been president and chief operating officer. As CEO, he succeeds Justin Jacobi, who was named executive chairman. Based in Addison, Illinois, SunSource provides fluid-power and motion-control technologies.

Symplicity Corp, the Arlington, Virginia, educational-tech company, named Michael Chasen to the board. Chasen is former president and CEO of Blackboard Inc. Symplicity is owned by H.I.G. Capital.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Beauty Brands, a provider of salon and retail beauty products, named Caryn Lerner CEO. She succeeds Lyn Kirby, who remains chairman. Previously, Lerner was an operating partner at Palladin Capital Group.

BlackArch, an M&A acquisitions advisory investment bank, promoted Adam Tindel to director and Josh Ollek and Ryan Popp to vice president. Tindel joined BlackArch in 2011 while Ollek and Popp came on board in 2013.

DLA Piper hired private equity lawyer Jeff Legault as a partner for its corporate practice in New York. Previously, Legault was a partner at Mayer Brown.

FirstavenueFabiana Cid de Andrade joined the firm as a principal in its new Dallas office. Andrade spent three years at Credit Suisse as a vice president in the private-funds group and led the firm’s activities in Latin America. She currently serves as a senior adviser at LAVCA.

Group 1 Automotive, an automotive retailer, added Carin M. Barth to its board. Barth is a co-founder and president of LP Capital Inc.

Optanix: Mike Barry joined as CEO. Barry had been an operating partner at Francisco Partners.

Pacific View Asset Management added Joan Schriger and Brian O’Keefe to its team. Both are founders of Pharus Capital Management LLC.

Sixpoint Partners: Michael Leonardo joined the firm as vice president of West Coast distribution. Leonardo joins from Ironwood Capital Management, where he was an associate vice president.

Tatum, the executive-services firm, named Chris Shaw regional partner of private equity services. Previously, Shaw was a managing director at Oberon Securities.

Weil, Gotshal & Manges hired Brian Gingold as a partner in the law firm’s global private equity practice. Gingold, based in the firm’s New York office, is joining Weil Gotshal from Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, where he was a partner in its corporate department focusing on the private equity practice.

PROMOTIONS

Calamos Investments named Michael Grant to lead portfolio management of the firm’s U.S. growth strategies. Grant joined the investment management firm in 2015 after Calamos acquired Grant’s company, Phineus Partners LP.

Corsair Capital named James E. Kirk as a managing director. Kirk joined Corsair as a principal in 2004. Prior to that, he was an investment banker at JP Morgan, advising on M&A and fundraising.

Frazier Healthcare Partners has promoted Philip Zaorski to vice president. Zaorski joined the firm in 2012 as an associate.

Greenbriar Equity GroupNiall McComiskey was named a managing director.

RCP Advisors has made a number of promotions on its team. Dave McCoy is now the private equity firm’s managing partner while Alex Abell, Nell Blatherwick, Michael Feinglass and Andy Nelson have been upped to partner. And Ross Koenig and Michael Rice become vice presidents.

Sorenson Capital promoted Peter Sturgeon to a managing director. He joined the firm in 2006 as an associate. He is also a former associate at Boston Consulting Group.

Sixpoint Partners promoted Sean Joffe and Ryan Carey to director, while Ben Newman was named a vice president.

TSG Consumer Partners promoted Mary Miller to principal of business development. Miller joined the consumer-focused private equity firm in 2015 as vice president of business development.

Yukon Partners promoted Aaron Arnett to principal and David Sampair to director.
