New faces at Unigestion

Alternative asset firm Unigestion has expanded its private equity team with the appointment of senior investment professionals in both its London and Geneva offices. Andrew Marchant has joined Unigestion in London as an advisor to the private equity group. He will work alongside Bernard Sabrier, Christopher Sharples and David Chamberlain. In addition, he will be a director of Unigestion and will serve as deputy chairman of the group’s private equity investment committee. Prior to joining Unigestion, Marchant worked as a director and shareholder of Cinven from 1988 to 2001.

Paul Newsome has also joined the Unigestion’s private equity team in London. Newsome has joined as investment director responsible for venture capital and telecom fund investments. He was previously a member of BancBoston’s European Technology Group, responsible for venture capital investments in early stage technology companies.

In Geneva, Unigestion has recruited Christian Gobet as a member of its private equity portfolio management team. Gobet was formerly at BNP Paribas and UBS in Switzerland.

The recent recruits bring Unigestion’s private equity team to 18 professionals, covering the European market from offices in London, Paris and Geneva.
