News – TCEP Invests $40M In Eclipse Networks

Adding to its information technology platform, Thoma Cressey Equity Partners has put $40 million of faith behind Joseph Bonocore, former national industry director of KPMG’s communications practice.

Thoma Cressey is the sole investor in the enterprise, Eclipse Networks Inc., which partner Orlando Bravo said would seek to grow initially through acquisitions of companies that can facilitate establishment of a network consulting and services firm. He added that the new entity currently has three companies in specific application and network areas under letters of intent.

“There are two themes here: the convergence of voice and data and the convergence of applications and the network,” Bravo said. “This company will put both together to serve as a single solution.”

Eclipse Networks will target Fortune 500 companies as customers, specifically focusing on designing and implementing integrated communications networks to support customer care systems.

Following the transaction, Bravo and William Liebeck, also a partner at Thoma Cressey, joined the board of directors.
