Nordic Capital raises E1.9bn

Nordic Capital has closed its sixth fund on €1.9bn following six months of fund raising. This is an increase on its previous fund’s total of €1.5bn, which closed in 2003. This latest fund, Nordic Capital VI, will not deviate from the firm’s investment strategy. It will continue to focus on companies in the Nordic region, but is open to investments from the rest of Europe, and will generally target business with sales of over SEK500m (€50m.)

Around €60m of commitments to the fund has come from the US$27bn Pennsylvania State Employees’ Retirement System and the Washington State Investment Board committed €145m. Other investors include Swedish pension funds AP2 and AP6 and Danish pension fund ATP.
