NYSCRF allocates over $1bn in commitments

The US public pension has allocated over $1bn by backing five private equity funds.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has approved more than $1 billion of capital across five private equity vehicles, reported affiliate title Private Equity International. 

The commitments include $400 million to KKR North America Fund XIII, $200 million to Carlyle Aviation Leasing Fund, $200 million to Roark Capital Partners VI, $200 million to Brightwood Capital Fund V and $20 million to Motive Capital Fund II.

The commitment to Roark Capital Group marks a new fund manager relationship for New York CRF. Launched in January, Roark Capital Partner’s sixth buyout vehicle is currently fundraising towards a $5 billion target. The fund will target investments in the business services, restaurants, health and wellness sectors primarily based in North America.

The $263.8 billion pension has a target of 10 percent for private equity allocation, which currently stands at 11.2 percent. Illustrated below are the recent fund commitments made by the CRF.
