PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Acacia Partners said that Greg Maletsky has joined the firm as a partner. He previously worked at Waveland Investments.

Angelo, Gordon & Co has named Gareth J. Henry as a managing director and global head of investor relations. Previously, Henry worked at Fortress Investment Group’s liquid markets business as global head of investor relations.

Antares Capital has made a number of hires to its loan syndication, sales and trading team. Kevin Burke, who joins Antares from GE Capital, will lead the team that includes Managing Directors Anthony Diaz, Mark Familo, Erica Frontiero, Peter Nolan, John Timoney and Patrick Wallace. Also joining the team are Kristin Condon, previously a managing director from RBC Capital Markets, and Todd Davis, previously an associate from Capital One.

Ardian has named Olivier Piani as senior advisor and chairman of its investment committee. In his new position, Piani will help Ardian expand its real estate arm. Previously, Piani was the CEO of Allianz Real Estate.

August Equity LLP said Tim Thomas has joined as a director focusing on new investments. Thomas worked previously at RJD Partners, Hermes Private Equity and Bridgepoint Development Capital.

First Beverage Group said John Sheldon has joined its team as president of First Beverage Financial, the company’s investment banking division. Sheldon most recently was managing director of the consumer products and services group of Peter J. Solomon Company.

Pine Brook named Julie Hart and Thomas Nielsen as vice presidents to its investor relations team. Prior to joining the firm, Hart worked at HarbourVest Partners and Nielsen was at UBP Asset Management.

Resilience Capital Partners has named Chad F. Hesse as general counsel. Previously, Hesse worked at Diebold Inc where he recently served as vice president and associate general counsel of global corporate affairs.

Suzanne Streeter has joined Partners Capital as a senior investment principal. She will lead the firm’s private equity asset class in North America. Streeter previously was managing director in chargte of Fund Investments & Advisory at Babson Capital Management.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Pamplona Capital Management has named J. Joel Hackney as CEO of the new company that will be formed by the merger of MedAssets’ revenue cycle management segment and Precyse, a provider of health information management services, technology and education. Hackney’s appointment will go into effect following the closing of Pamplona’s buyout of MedAssets. Others that will join the leadership team include Dennis Norman as chief financial officer and Chris Powell as president of health information management.

AM Conservation Group Inc, a portfolio company of Kohlberg & Company, has appointed Michael Quinn as president and CEO. Previously, Quinn worked at Aurora Products Group as president and CEO. AM Conservation is a provider of energy and water efficiency products.

Mavenlink, a provider of project management and resource planning software, has named Michael Lin as chief financial officer and JB Steadman as senior vice president of engineering. Lin is the former CFO of Cake Marketing, while Steadman was previously the senior engineering director at Pivotal Labs. Mavenlink’s backers include Carrick Capital Partners and Silicon Valley Bank.

MultiView, which is backed by Warburg Pincus, has named Tom Benson as executive vice president of sales. Previously, Benson worked at Intuit as a sales and support director. MultiView is a provider of digital marketing solutions in the B2B sector.

One Call Care Management said Executive Chairman Dale Wolf has assumed the additional roles of president and chief executive officer. One Call is a portfolio company of Apax Partners.

Seattle-based PushSpring, a provider of mobile app audience data and analytics, has hired Brad Dobbs as director of publisher and platform partnerships. Previously, Dobbs worked at Amazon as manager of mobile games user acquisition. PushSpring’s backers include Trilogy Equity Partners.

Cybersecurity company SignalSense has hired Kurt Kokko as chief technology officer. Previously, Kokko worked at the Walt Disney Company. Backers of SignalSense include Trilogy Equity Partners.

Sewing machine company SVP Worldwide, backed by Kohlberg & Company, has appointed Paul Block as CEO. Previously, Block was the president, CEO and board chairman of Merisant Worldwide Inc.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Perella Weinberg Partners has named Woody Young as a partner in its advisory business. Previously, Young worked at Lazard as a managing director and was co-head of the global telecommunications, media and technology group.

EQIS Capital Management has named Melanie Hardin as chief strategy officer. Previously, Hardin worked at LPL Financial as executive vice president of investment platform solutions and strategic growth.

Foros said Lonne Jaffe has joined the firm as an advisory director. Jaffe is the former CEO of Syncsort and a former senior M&A and strategy executive at IBM and CA Technologies.

Former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani has joined Greenberg Traurig LLP as global chair of the firm’s Cybersecurity and Crisis Management Practice and senior advisor to firm Executive Chairman Richard A. Rosenbaum. Also, Marc Mukasey joined Greenberg as global co-chair of the firm’s White Collar Defense Practice. Mukasey previously served as deputy chief appellate attorney and unit chief for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York and was a former staff attorney at the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Shawna Kaufman has joined the Institutional Limited Partners Association as a managing director of membership and events. Previously, Kaufman was a leader of Monitor Deloitte’s customer and marketing strategy practice in Canada.

Kirkland & Ellis LLP has hired Norm Champ as a partner in the law firm’s private funds group. Champ is the former director of the SEC’s  investment management division.

Latham & Watkins LLP hired Rainer Traugott as a partner in its Munich office to focus on large German corporates and private equity firms. Traugott was previously a partner at Linklaters, where he led the law firm’s private equity practice in Germany.

Rick Genest has joined Premier Insurance Services as president. Genest joins Premier from Freeway Insurance/Confie Seguros, where he served as their Houston, Texas-based president. Premier is owned by Protector Holdings LLC, a joint venture between EPIC and Dowling Capital Partners. EPIC is backed by the Carlyle Group and Stone Point Capital.

The Private Equity Growth Capital Council has named Mike Sommers president and CEO. Previously, Sommers was the chief of staff to former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representives John Boehner.

Qualcomm Inc, a wireless technologies provider, has named Jeffrey W. Henderson to its board of directors. He is an advisory director to Berkshire Partners and is a former chief financial officer at Cardinal Health.

Scotiabank has named Scott Bonham to its board of directors. Bonham was a co-founder of GGV Capital and co-founder and partner of The Fueling Station.

Tempus Global Data, an atmospheric and environmental data company, has named Aaron DeRose as the executive vice president of corporate development. Previously, DeRose worked at Mercato Partners where he was on the firm’s investment committee.

LIMITED PARTNERS

The Investment Fund for Foundations hired David Fallace, former director of investments — special opportunities at the $50 million Alaska Permanent Fund Corp. Fallace joins TIFF as a managing director focused on diversifying strategies, including manager research, selection and monitoring for TIFF’s absolute return program.

PROMOTIONS

Harbert Management Corp promoted Sonja Keeton to executive vice president and chief financial officer; Travis Pritchett to vice president and senior managing director of global real estate strategies; Jerry Phillips to vice president and director of taxation; and Raymond Harbert Jr. to vice president of finance and administration.

HCAP Partners promoted Hope Mago to principal. Mago joined the firm, formerly named Huntington Capital, in 2009 from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe.

Lightyear Capital LLC promoted Daniel Freyman to managing director. Freyman was also added to Lightyear’s investment committee.

Monument Group promoted Meredith A. Gendron and Niklas K. Amundsson to partners. Prior to joining Monument, Gendron worked as a technical analyst at Olson Global Markets and Amundsson worked at MVision as director of its Hong Kong office.

Pine Brook promoted Annie Sloyer to chief financial officer and Claire Harvey to principal on the energy investment team. Sloyer joined the firm in 2010 and Harvey came on board in 2014.

Summit Partners promoted seven people across its Boston and Menlo Park offices. David Averett, Adam Britt, Andrews Collins, Robert Hassell and Michael Medici were made managing directors. Jesse Lane was made a principal and Gabriel Carreiro was promoted to vice president.
