PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Cimbria Capital named Jens Ulrick Hansen a managing director. The Houston private equity firm invests in the water-technology and agribusiness sectors in North America and Europe.

Cotton Creek Capital, the Austin private equity firm, hired Nicholas A. Longtin as an associate. Longtin previously was an investment-banking analyst in the global industrials group at UBS Investment Bank.

General Atlantic: Preston McKenzie and Eric Spiegel joined as special advisers. McKenzie is former CEO of Newscycle Solutions, while Spiegel is ex-president and CEO of Siemens USA.

GPB Capital appointed Anisha Malhotra a managing director and head of capital markets. Malhotra previously was a senior member of the debt-underwriting group at Goldman Sachs.

Jordan Blanchard Capital: Paul S. Amos II resigned as president of Aflac to join the private equity firm as a director, according to the Atlanta Business Chronicle. The Atlanta PE firm will rename itself JBA Capital, the story said.

Kainos Capital hired Robin Olsson as a managing director and Kim Homa as a director. Olsson is a former principal at Operations Strategy Partners while Homa previously was a director at USC Consulting Group.

MissionOG, a Philadelphia early-to-growth stage venture firm, appointed Michael Heller senior adviser. Heller is co-founder and former president of Argus Information & Advisory Services.

NovaQuest Capital Management hired Vern Davenport as a partner. Davenport previously was CEO and a board member at Medfusion.

NXT Capital named Cary Verasco director of the Northeast region for the corporate-finance group. Verasco most recently served as a senior vice president in the financial-sponsors group at Jefferies.

ParkerGale Capital hired Myra D’Souza as a principal. D’Souza previously was a consultant for the deals practice at PwC.

1315 Capital, the Philadelphia healthcare-focused growth equity firm, hired Matthew Q. Reber as a partner. Reber most recently was a managing director at HealthCare Royalty Partners.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Accedian, the Montreal provider of network performance monitoring and assurance solutions, named Steve Pusey, Steve Mills and Peter Griffiths to the board. Pusey is former group chief technology officer of Vodafone; Mills is ex-vice president at IBM Software and Systems; and Griffiths is former executive vice president of CA Technologies. Accedian is backed by Bridge Growth Partners.

Aircraft Technical Publishers, a provider of information tools and services for the aviation sector, named Rick Noble CEO. Noble is former executive chairman and CEO of Haights Cross Communications. ATP is a portfolio company of ParkerGale Capital.

American Safety Council, a portfolio company of Falfurrias Capital Partners, named John Comly CEO. Comly served as president of several operating units at Red Ventures. ASC provided online safety training and education programs.

Magstim Group Inc, the Morrisville, North Carolina, provider of transcranial magnetic stimulation and intraoperative nerve monitoring, named Lothar Krinke CEO. Krinke previously was general manager of Medtronic’s global deep-brain-stimulation business. Magstim is backed by Telegraph Hill Partners.

Medical Reimbursements of America, backed by Riverside Partners, named S. Mark Talley CEO. Talley is former president and chief operating officer of Zotec MMP. Based in Franklin, Tennessee, MRA provides specialty reimbursement solutions for hospitals and health systems.

Newfi Lending: Joining the company as account managers of their respective regions are Greg Vaughn, Lisa Morris, Ryan Melideo, Jeff Grebe, John Farrell and Debbie Koehler. Newfi Lending, a residential mortgage lender, is a portfolio company of Warburg Pincus.

Prelude Fertility named Susan Hertzberg CEO. She previously was president and CEO at Boston Heart Diagnostics. Prelude was launched last October by Lee Equity Partners, entrepreneur Martín Varsavsky, Reproductive Biology Associates and My Egg Bank.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Accordion, a private-equity-focused financial consulting firm, opened an office in San Francisco and hired Rishi Jain as managing director and head of the western region. Jain previously led the San Francisco office at Alvarez & Marsal.

Alvarez & Marsal opened an office in Stockholm. Joining the office as managing directors are Christer Wiberg, Taus Wolfsberg and Christer Johansson. Wiberg also will serve as country leader and transaction-advisory leader of A&M’s Nordic operations.

William Blair hired Christina Bresani as a managing director and head of financial services investment banking. Bresani previously focused on M&A at UBS in New York.

Campbell Lutyens, the placement agent, appointed Teh Kok Peng to its advisory board. Peng is former president of GIC Special Investments.

Livingstone, the mid-market M&A and debt adviser, hired Krishan Raval, Joe Austin and Dustin Stevens.

Institutional Limited Partners Association: Peter Freire stepped down as CEO of the trade group, a June 12 letter to members says. Tanya Carmichael, ILPA chair, said in the letter that Jennifer Choi, managing director for industry affairs, would for now assume day-to-day management responsibility of ILPA. Freire, a longtime veteran of CEB, joined ILPA in 2015, when he succeeded Kathy Jeramaz-Larson as head.

Longford Capital: Bankruptcy attorney Marc J. Carmel is joining the firm as a director. Carmel will help with investment sourcing, due diligence and monitoring portfolio investments. Carmel’s background includes stints at Kirkland & Ellis and Paul Hastings.

 Royal Bank of Canada: Jonathan Yalmokas resigned as Bank of America’s head of prime brokerage in the Americas to lead an equity financing business at Royal Bank of Canada.

U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission: The agency is poised to hire Dalia Blass to lead the division that regulates asset managers, according to a person familiar with the matter.

PROMOTIONS

Graphite Capital: The U.K. middle-market private equity firm promoted Mike Innes to the management board; Liam McGivern to investment director and Denise Bartolo to director of investor relations. The firm also made several appointments, among them Lara Markham and Sophie Davies, who joined as investment executives, and Neel Popat, as an investment manager.

Wind Point Partners promoted Konrad Salaber and David Stott to managing director and Joe Lawler to principal. Salaber and Stott joined the Chicago private equity firm in 2004 while Lawler came on board in 2009.
