PRIVATE EQUITY FIRMS

Avante Mezzanine Partners hired Amanda Kim as an associate. Kim is a former associate at Goldman Sachs’s alternative investment and manager selection group.

BelHealth Investment Partners beefed up its team. Joining the healthcare-focused PE firm are Michelle Gallegos as controller, Bryan Assael as director of compliance and Peter Gurny and Alex Wood as associates.

Blackstone recruited Marc Bolland as head of the European portfolio operations of its private equity businesses. Bolland’s senior leadership roles included chief executive of Marks and Spencer plc; CEO of Morrisons plc; and chief operating officer at Heineken plc. His appointment is effective Sept. 19.

Blackstone added Jim Breyer to the board. Breyer is founder and CEO of Breyer Capital and a former managing partner at Accel Partners.

ClearPoint Investment Partners named Kenneth May an operating partner. May is a former chairman and CEO of Group RCI (now Wyndham Vacation Exchange & Rentals).

CVC Capital Partners appointed Cathrin Petty a partner and head of European healthcare. Petty, who will be based in the London office, previously served as head of healthcare in EMEA for JP Morgan .

Finstar Financial Group said Eugene Timko joined the PE firm as investment director; Michele Tucci was named head of mobile products and business development, and Alexander Ivanov was appointed to develop venture capital investments.

Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors LP appointed Mike Levitt CEO. Levitt is the former vice chairman of Apollo Credit Management.

Monroe Capital LLC said Marc Adelson joined the firm as managing director for originations. Adelson previously was chief credit officer of Medallion Financial and president of its asset-based-lending business.

Stella Point Capital named Howard Weiss chief financial officer. Weiss was senior vice president and chief financial officer at Castle Harlan.

Alison Miller joined Wynnchurch Capital as a director. Miller was previously a director of business development at Garden City Group and Donlin Recano & Co.

Z Capital Group hired David C. DeMilt as a managing director for its corporate development team. DeMilt joins the firm from Oaktree Capital Management.

PORTFOLIO COMPANIES

Blackboard Inc, a portfolio company of Providence Equity Partners, named Lisa Mayr chief financial officer. Mayr previously was interim CFO. She joined the company in July 2013 as a vice president of finance. Based in Washington, Blackboard is an education-technology company.

Turnbridge Capital-backed Cimarron Energy Inc hired Jeffrey L. Foster  CEO. Foster previously was president and CEO at MicroSeismic Inc.

MSD, a portfolio company of New Mountain Capital, named Tom Burke CEO. Burke joins from Cardinal Health where he most recently was senior vice president and general manager of the innovative delivery solutions division. He also is a former CEO of Novis Pharmaceuticals. MSD is the Stoughton, Massachusetts, provider of supply-chain, medical-device-management and technology solutions.

Blue Wolf-backed National Home Health Care Corp, the Scarsdale, New York, home-healthcare-services provider, appointed Stan Dennis CEO. Dennis was a senior operating executive at Welsh, Carson, Anderson and Stowe. He succeeds Steve Fialkow, who is retiring but will remain on National Home Health Care’s board.

Clearlake Capital-backed NetMotion Wireless, a provider of mobile performance management and traffic optimization software, named Christopher Kenessey CEO. Kenessey had been president of NetMotion. He is also a former chief sales and marketing officer at The Foundry.

Leeward Renewable Energy LLC, which is backed by ArcLight Capital Partners LLC, named Gregory C. Wolf CEO. Wolf previously was president of Duke Energy Renewables. Based in Dallas, Leeward focuses on operating, developing and acquiring renewable energy assets.

SERVICE PROVIDERS

Cetera Financial Group named Jeffrey R. Buchheister CFO, effective Aug. 2. Buchheister most recently served as executive vice president and chief accounting officer for LPL Financial.

DHI Group Inc, a New York provider of specialized career websites, named Jennifer Deason to the board. Deason is executive vice president at Bain Capital.

UK advisory and equity finance firm Dow Schofield Watts named David Smith  a corporate finance director. Smith previously was an investment director at North West Fund for digital and creative.

Financial-services-tech-solutions provider Fiserv Inc named John Kim to the board. Kim is president of New York Life Insurance Co. He is a senior adviser and member of the advisory committee of venture firm RRE.

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP hired private funds lawyer Bryan McGee for its New York office. McGee previously worked at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.

Goldman Sachs hired the former head of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso, as an adviser and non-executive chairman of its international unit.

Law firm Goodwin named Stephen E. Lee a partner for its private equity practice. Lee, based in the firm’s Los Angeles office, previously was a partner at K&L Gates.

Larry DeAngelo and Paul Simpson joined Houlihan Lokey as managing directors to lead the firm’s global business services group. DeAngelo joins from SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, where he was a managing director in the M&A group. Simpson previously spent nearly two decades at Rothschild, most recently as managing director and global head of business services.

IPG Photonics Corp, the Oxford, Massachusetts, provider of fiber lasers and amplifiers, named Catherine P. Lego to the board. Lego is a principal and founder of Lego Ventures LLC. She is also a former general partner at Oak Investment Partners.

Advisory firm Tyton Partners appointed Tim Loomer a senior adviser and managing partner in its investment banking and consulting practices, while Jeff Dinski is joining as director and Michelle Miller as a senior principal and director.

Violin Memory Inc, the Santa Clara, California, provider of memory-storage solutions, named Bruce H. Grant to the board. Grant is chairman of management consulting firm Applied Value LLC. He also chairs Garden Growth Capital LLC and Garden Growth Industries AB as well as Applied Venture Capital LLC.

Weil, Gotshal & Manges added Christopher Machera as a partner in the law firm’s PE practice. Based in the New York office, Machera was previously a partner at Greenberg Traurig. He is also a former vice president and associate general counsel at Goldman Sachs.

Akina promoted Natalia SigristChristian BöhlerFrancesco Aldorisio and Viktor Speckinger to partner.

Altus Capital Partners Inc promoted Heidi Goldstein to partner.

Campbell Lutyens promoted Edward Hutton to partner. The firm also promoted Xiaoni Shi and Nick Spencer to principal. Hutton joined Campbell Lutyens in 2007 while Shi came on board in 2013 and Spencer was hired in 2010.

Kayne Anderson Capital Advisors LP promoted Bob Sinnott, previously president and CEO, to co-chairman alongside founder Ric Kayne.

Norwest Equity Partners promoted Andrew Cantwell to partner. Cantwell joined the firm in 2006 and became a principal two years later.

Trive Capital promoted Dan Lenahan to managing director, Jonathan Nunnaley to chief financial officer, and Andrew Frank and Nick Miner to senior associate. Based in Dallas, Trive invests in equity and debt securities, focusing on the middle market, with about $900 million in capital under management.
