– J. Leighton Read has been named a general partner at seed- and early-stage venture firm Alloy Ventures of Palo Alto, Calif. There, he will specialize in medical technology investments. Leighton is the former chairman and director of biopharmaceutical concern Aviron, a company he founded in 1992. He has retained his director’s position at Aviron.

– Adam Nash recently joined Atlas Venture‘s Menlo Park, Calif. offices as an associate. Most recently, he held roles in product management and software engineering at Preview Systems. Additionally, Christian Metcalfe has joined the firm’s Seattle office as an analyst. Previously, Metcalfe was a vice president of operations with IZ Inc. His resume also includes stints at Covad Communications Co., Time Warner Cable, and Comcast Cable.

– Pamela Bliss has been promoted to principal at Capital Resource Partners, where she will be responsible for investments in healthcare, business information, and consumer product services. Before joining CRP in 1998 as an investment manager, Bliss was at TA Associates, where she identified, analyzed and structured equity investments in healthcare and business service companies.

– Tal Lev and Lynda Radosevich have signed on at Jerusalem Venture Partners, as a senior associate and vice president of international marketing and public relations, respectively. Lev will focus on deal generation in the optical networking and wireless industries, while Radosevich’s responsibilities at JVP will include assisting the firm’s new portfolio companies in market research, competitive positioning, public relations and launch activities. Both Lev and Radosevich will be located at the firm’s New York office.
