Mike Angelakis is stepping down as a managing director of Providence Equity Partners, in order to become Co-CFO of Comcast Corp. (Nasdaq: CMCSA). He will replace the retiring Lawrence Smith, and will take over as sole CFO in 2008, once fellow Co-CFO John Alchin retires. Providence recently began raising its sixth fund with a $10 billion target. Angelakis currently is a director with Providence portfolio companies Bresnan Communications, MGM and Northland Cable Networks.

Len Brooks has been named vice chairman of Trenwith Securities, the middle-market I-banking arm of Trenwith Group. He previously was head of UBS Investment Bank’s global private equity placement group and group head of PaineWebber’s private capital group.

CapitalSource announced that senior investment officer Eleanore Clarage will open and manage a new office in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Amit Chandra has resigned as Merrill Lynch & Co.’s top executive in India, in order to pursue unspecified private equity opportunities.

Peter Combe, former chairman of financial sponsors and co-head of leveraged finance with Lehman Brothers, has joined Permira to run a new debt practice.

Frank Dejonckheere has joined Cogent Partners as a vice president in the firm’s New York office. He has eight years of private equity I-banking experience, primarily with Merrill Lynch and Citigroup in London.

Robert Druskin has been named chief operating officer of Citigroup, and will be succeeded as president of Citigroup corporate and I-banking by Michael Klein and Thomas Maheras.

Bradley Eden has joined Z Capital Partners as a managing director and head of corporate development. He previously served as co-founder and chairman of investment consultancy Fund Evaluation Group. Z Capital also said to expect additional personnel announcements in the near future.

EDS (NYSE: EDS) has promoted Ron Rittenmeyer to the position of president. Rittenmeyer also will retain his current role as chief operating officer. He joined EDS in July 2005, before which he had been a managing director with The Cypress Group.

Anton Gueth has joined Burrill & Co. as a managing director of merchant banking. He previously founded his own consulting firm and, before that, was with Eli Lilly.

GE has named Michael Chen as president and CEO of its global media and communications unit. He previously was general manager for GE Aviation Services’ global airports and U.S. aviation group.

Peter Keen has joined Espirit Capital Partners as a partner. He previously was CFO of Arakis Ltd., and before that co-founded venture capital firm Merlin Biosciences.

William Kirsch has joined the Chicago office of Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker LLP as a partner and chair of the firm’s global private equity practice. He has spent the past 23 years with Kirkland & Ellis.

Audrey Klein has agreed to join Park Hill Real Estate Group, an affiliate of The Blackstone Group, as a London-based partner and head of European operations. She previously was a director with Caskar Partners, and plans to continue services Caskar clients through 2007.

Dana LaForge has joined Brera Capital Partners as a partner based in New York. He previously founded private equity firm Colonnade Financial Group and, before that, headed North American financial institutions I-banking at Deutsche Bank.

Kenneth Leet has agreed to join Cerberus Capital Management as president of European operations. Leet is a veteran Goldman Sachs banker who most recently was serving as senior advisor to Ford Motor Co. He will remain as a special advisor to Ford.

Lehman Brothers has named Michael Tory as head of U.K. I-banking, just one year after he joined the firm from Morgan Stanley. Former U.K. banking chief Anthony Fry will focus more on client development.

Kelvin Liu has joined Invesco as a principal in the firm’s private equity fund-of-funds group. Liu spent the last seven years as director of North American operations for TIF Ventures, a $1.3 billion Singaporean fund-of-funds. Previously, he was the director of the National Science and Technology Board.

Alvaro de Molina has resigned as chief financial officer of Bank of America, after just 18 months on the job. He says that he hopes to either become a CEO or run a private equity or hedge fund. Joe Price, head of risk management for global corporate and I-banking, will take on the CFO role.

Peter Olaynack has joined middle-market I-bank Morgan Joseph & Co. as a managing director of corporate finance. He will maintain offices in both New York and Miami, and previously was a senior managing director with Bear Stearns.

Nicholas Politan has joined the New York office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP as a partner. He previously was co-chair of Bingham McCutchen’s project and structured finance group, and will continue to focus on domestic and cross-border energy-related transactions.

Ted Ridgway has joined banking boutique Seven Hills Partners as a partner in its technology, media and telecom practice. He previously was a vice president and general manager atRadiSys Corp., (Nasdaq: RSYS).

Ripplewood Holdings said that it will name Mary Berner as president and CEO of The Reader’s Digest Association, following the completion of Ripplewood’s public-to-private buyout of the company. Ripplewood executive chairman Harvey Golub will become Reader’s Digest chairman, while current Reader’s Digest president and CEO Eric Schrier is in talks to assume a “strategic role to help build a stronger portfolio of media assets upon completion of the transaction.”

Brian Sherer has joined SVB Silicon Valley Bank as a managing director of corporate finance. He previously was a senior vice president at Wells Fargo Foothill, where he focused on private equity-backed acquisition financing.

Cezary Stypulkowski has joined JPMorgan as a managing director of Central and Eastern European I-banking. He previously served as CEO of insurance company PZU SA and, before that, as CEO of Bank Handlowy.

Luis Téllez has joined the cabinet of Mexican President Felipe Calderon as Secretary of Communications and Transportation. He most recently served as a Mexico City-based managing director for The Carlyle Group, and before that was CEO of industrial conglomerate Desc SA de CV. From 1997 to 2000, Téllez served as Mexico’s Secretary of Energy.

Paul Walborsky has joined Hercules Technology Growth Capital as a managing director in the firm’s technology group. He previously founded and served as CEO of Grupo Arca, a membership club for Hispanics in the United States.

Richard White, a managing director and head of private equity with Oppenheimer & Co., has taken a board seat with Lakes Entertainment Inc. (Nasdaq: LACO).

Chris Williams has joined GulfStar Group as a managing director. He previously was founder of Chris Williams Consulting.
