Richard Allsopp has agreed to join fund placement and secondary advisory firm Campbell Lutyens as a partner. He is the former global head of private equity funds with UBS, which he left last year to form an internal fundraising operation at Babcock & Brown. Following B&B’s financial troubles, he worked to help the firm’s European infrastructure group spin out.

Robert Barry has joined law firm Proskauer Rose as a London-based partner in the firm’s private funds practice. He previously was head of Travers Smith’s investment funds group.

Frank Castelluccio has joined Broadpoint Gleacher Securities Group as an executive managing director and head of operations. He previously spent eight years as a managing director in the fixed income unit of Jefferies & Co.

Phil Cox has joined Silicon Valley Bank as head of operations in the U.K., Europe and Israel. Cox previously ran commercial banking for Royal Bank of Scotland in London.

Kalpana Desai has joined Macquarie Group as deputy head of Macquarie Capital Asia. She is the former head of Asia M&A (excluding Japan) for Merrill Lynch.

John Ford has joined PR firm Walek & Associates as counsel. He previously was head of media relations and corporate communications for The Blackstone Group.

Stephen Gaines has stepped down as managing director and head of U.S. corporate finance for KPMG, according to an email he sent to friends and colleagues. Gaines had joined KPMG in 1993, and took over the corporate finance group in June 2001.

Virginia Gambale, founder and managing partner of Azimuth Partners, has joined the board of Piper Jaffray Companies.

Susan Gillick has joined Standish Management, a provider of outsourced accounting infrastructure to buyout and venture capital firms, as head of the firm’s new Boston office. She previously was controller with Elevation Partners and, before that, was with Fox Paine & Co.Bob Grady, a partner with The Carlyle Group, has joined the board of Thomas Weisel Partners Group Inc. (Nasdaq: TWPG).

Chris Hammond has joined Nashville-based private equity firm Gen Cap America as a vice president. He previously was a principal with Calvert Street Capital Partners.

Christopher Heckscher has joined Standard Life Investments as senior vice president of U.S. credit. He previously spent 14 years with Wellington Management.

Ruth Horowitz has joined IFC Asset Management Co. as chief administrative officer. She previously was a managing director and chief administrative officer of Lehman Brothers’ private equity business.

Jim Lindner has joined Norwest Equity Partners as an operating partner focused on the technology and business services sectors. He is the current chairman and former CEO of NEP portfolio company Mitchell International, a San Diego-based provider of information services, software and e-business solutions for the automotive and workers’ compensation insurance claims processing industries.

Gail Long, former executive director of ACG Boston, has joined two firms as a senior consultant. The first is national turnaround and restructuring firm Getzler Henrich & Associates, while the other is New York-based direct secondaries firm W Capital Partners. Long has been succeeded at ACG Boston by Christy Dancause, who previously was the organization’s director of events and administration.

Bob Jenkins and Jim Sutcliffe have joined CVC Capital Partners as senior advisors, with a focus on the financial services sector. Jenkins is the former chairman and CEO of F&C Asset Management, while Sutcliffe was CEO of Old Mutual PLC.

Alexandra Jung has joined Oak Hill Advisors as co-head of the firm’s European business. She previously was a managing director with Greywolf Capital Management.

Karl Kurz has joined CCMP Capital as a managing director, and co-head of the firm’s energy investment practice. He also will sit on the CCMP investment committee. Kurz had spent the past nine years with Anadarko Petroleum, most recently as chief operating officer.

Rozell Mack III has joined Edge Capital Partners as a senior advisor. He is a co-founding partner of Ascend Venture Group.

Steve Pagliuca, a managing director of Bain Capital, has resigned from the Burger King (NYSE: BKC) board of directors, shortly after launching a campaign for U.S. Senate in Massachusetts. Pagliuca has taken a leave of absence from Bain.

Brett Pantazi has joined mid-market I-bank Nolan & Associates as a managing director. He will work out of the firm’s St. Louis office, and previously was with National City Capital Markets and A.G. Edwards Capital Markets.

Richard Parsons, chairman of Citigroup and former CEO of Time Warner, has agreed to become a senior advisor to Providence Equity Partners.

Lawrence Portman has joined Rothschild as a managing director and head of consumer products for the Americas. He previously was head of Citigroup’s North American food and beverage practice.

Laura Prager and Linda Prager have joined interdealer broker ICAP PLC, as co-heads and managing director of a new alternative investments group that will serve as a secondaries intermediary. Laura previously founded LP Strategic Capital, while Linda was U.S. head of Citi’s prime brokerage business consulting practice. The two are sisters.

Joe Radecki has joined Lincoln International as a managing director and head of the firm’s U.S. restructuring and special situations group. He previously led restructuring groups at banks like Jefferies, CIBC and Piper Jaffray.

Jeffrey Rayport has joined Castanea Partners as an operating partner. He previously was a senior partner with Monitor Group, where he founded and chaired a business consultancy called Marketspace LLC.

Michael Rubel has joined small-market buyout shop RFE Investment Partners as a principal. He had spent the past six years as a principal with Weston Presidio.

Lee Stern has joined KKR as director of the firm’s asset management unit, where he will be responsible for originating and structuring mezzanine investments. He previously was a managing director with GSO Capital Partners.

Gregory Summe has joined The Carlyle Group as vice chairman of the firm’s global buyouts practice. He previously was a senior advisor to GS Capital Partners and, before that, spent 11 years as chairman and CEO of PerkinElmer.

Rodney Tsang has joined Citigroup as co-head of its China investment banking group. He previously was head of China private sector coverage for BoA Merrill Lynch.

Steven Wallace has stepped down as head of Asia-Pacific M&A for Citigroup. No word yet on his future plans.

Boeing (NYSE: BA) has named Andrew Ward as chief investment officer of its $65 billion pension system. He previously was managing director of investment strategy and asset allocation. Former Boeing CIO Mark Schmid left in June to become CIO of the University of Chicago.

Stephan Wilcke, a former partner with Apax Partners, has been appointed to oversee Britain’s Asset Protection Agency, the body designed to oversee a proposed insurance plan for banks’ toxic assets. He is the APA’s first permanent CEO, replacing temporary appointee Jeremy Bennett.
