Bill Bryant has joined Atlas Venture as a venture partner in the firm’s Seattle office. Bryant has been active in the formation and development of several technology companies in the Pacific Northwest, including Qpass Inc. and Netbot Inc.

Bill Diamond has joined FireStarter LLC‘s Presidents Circle, an informal network of presidents and CEOs from a wide spectrum of high technology fields. He is currently president and CEO of WaveSplitter, a producer of next-generation optical networking equipment.

Sydney Edwards has joined TL Ventures as a principal to help drive the firm’s biotech investments. He is currently working in the firm’s Wayne, Pa., office and will relocate this fall to the Los Angeles office to focus on West coast opportunities. Previously, he was a senior manager of corporate finance for Amgen Inc.

Rob Jacobs has joined Encompass Ventures Management Co. as an associate. He had previously worked at Encompass Group Inc., where he consulted for domestic IT companies.

John Major, former Prime Minister of Great Britain, has been named chairman of The Carlyle Group‘s European private equity funds and their advisory boards. In addition, Major will serve on Carlyle’s Asia Advisory Board, and will be involved with Carlyle Group’s investment activities in other parts of the world.

Peter Wheeler joining the leadership team of iFormation Group. He was previously with Goldman Sachs, including six years in New York and seven in Hong Kong, where from 1991 to 1998 he led the firm’s investment banking business.

Debbie Yaciuk has joined 1to1 Venture Partners as controller. She had previously served as controller for Peppers and Rogers Group.
