Anglo Irish Bank has named Jonathan Tuthill head of corporate treasury for the bank’s North American operations. He will be based in Boston and previously was senior manager of corporate treasury in Dublin.

Peter Bennett has joined Consumer Growth Partners as a New York-based partner. He previously ran the private placement practice at Goldsmith Agio Helms.

Edmund Carpenter has joined Genstar Capital as an operating partner focused on the industrial technology sector. He most recently served as CEO of Barnes Group Inc. (NYSE: B), a manufacturer of precision metal components and assemblies and distributor of industrial supplies. Prior to that, he spent two years as a senior managing director with Clayton, Dubilier & Rice.

Evan Flaschen and Gregory Nye have agreed to join Bracewell & Giuliani LLP as partners. The pair currently are partners in the financial restructuring group at Bingham McCutchen.

Fort Washington Investment Advisors has promoted Christopher Baucom to managing director, where he will serve as co-manager of the firm’s private equity group. Prior to joining Fort Washington in 2001, he was co-founder and CFO of venture-backed software company Copernus Inc.

Goodwin Procter LLP has opened new offices in San Diego and downtown Los Angeles. The San Diego office will be chaired by new hire Stephen Ferruolo, who previously was a partner with Heller Ehrman and co-chair of that firm’s corporate/VLG group. He will be joined by fellow ex-Heller partner Ryan Murr, while the downtown LA office will include three new partners focused on real estate: Dean Pappas and Dani Vogt, both from Mayer Brown, and Edward Hagerott Jr., who joins from Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP.

Brandon Halm has joined Calvert Street Capital Partners as an associate. He previously was a financial analyst in the I-banking group of Stifel Nicolaus.

Andreas Hautkappe, Rolf Huenermann and Stefan Joergens have joined Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP as Germany-based partners focused on private equity transactions. All three previously were with Clifford Chance. The group also will add former Clifford Chance attorneys Ole Oldenburg and Ingo Bednarz as associates.

Robert Jackowitz has agreed to join New York-based private equity firm Pine Brook Road Partners as CFO, effective April 9. He previously was treasurer and CFO of ESL Investments Inc.

Jeff Johnson has joined Yucaipa Cos. as a principal overseeing the firm’s current and future media properties. He was fired as editor of the Los Angeles Times last year after refusing a Tribune Company order to lay off editorial employees.

John Leone has joined Paul Capital Partners as a partner in the firm’s health-care practice, which participates in direct deals (including royalty and revenue interests), private equity secondaries and fund-of-funds commitments. He previously was president and CEO of Cambrex Corp. and, before that, was with Aventis as senior vice president and COO of U.S. commercial operations.

John McCarthy has joined North Castle Partners as an operating advisor focused on the firm’s fitness and recreation vertical. He is the founding executive director of the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association.

Paul Sabo has joined the Woodbridge Group Inc., a New Haven, Conn.-based M&A consultancy. He will head up the firm’s new St. Louis office, and previously worked with such St. Louis-based advisory firms as CheckMark Capital and Crown Capital Corp.

Jeffrey McDermott has resigned as one of three co-heads of global I-banking at UBS, effective June 30.

Firas Nasir has joined The Carlyle Group as a Dubai-based managing director on the firm’s Middle East and North Africa team. He previously was an executive director with UBS.

Paul Capital Partners has promoted Simon Guenzl to the position of partner on the firm’s secondary team. He joined the firm as a principal in 2003, after having been with The Sprout Group.

Leo Puri has joined Warburg Pincus as a managing director, effective April 10. He will initially be based in New York, but will later move to Mumbai to focus on opportunities in India and selected Asian markets. He previously was a director with McKinsey & Co. in India, where he was co-leader of the Asia financial services practice.

Kitty Sahin has joined The Watermill Group as a partner. She previously was head of corporate development at Charles River Labs.

Patrick Shattenkirk has joined Vestar Capital Partners as a managing director and head of investor relations (new position). He previously was a managing director with Cogent Partners.

IIvan Wanat has joined placement firm Atlantic-Pacific Capital as a director focused on hedge fund deal management and capital raising. He previously was a vice president in the private funds group of Credit Suisse. In other ApCap news, the firm has promoted John Chase to principal. Chase joined in 2005 as a vice president focused on sales distribution.

Scott Williams and Neil Weiss have joined Siesko Partners, a corporate insurance and risk management consultancy, as associates in the firm’s private equity due diligence practice. Williams previously focused on acquisition due diligence with VIP Wireless LLC, while Weiss worked for law firm Sonnenschein, Sherman & Deutsch LLP and music label The Sanctuary Group.
