Carr drives to American Capital

Michael Carr

has joined the alternative asset manager American Capital as vice president of the West Coast buyout team. Carr was previously managing partner of BAC Investments, a lower middle market equity firm that focused on outsourcing providers.

Leone brings health care expertise to Paul

John Leone has joined Paul Capital Partners as a partner in the firm’s health care practice, which participates in direct deals (including royalty and revenue interests), private equity secondaries and fund-of-funds commitments. He previously was president and CEO of Cambrex Corp. and, before that, was with Aventis as senior vice president and COO of U.S. commercial operations.

EIR plugs into Battery

Tim Ebling

has joined Battery Ventures as an executive-in-residence focused on the software sector. He previously served as chairman and CEO of former Battery portfolio company ProfitLogic, a retail software optimization company acquired two years ago by Oracle.

Bennett joins Consumer Growth

Peter Bennett

has joined private equity firm Consumer Growth Partners as a New York-based partner. He previously ran the private placement practice at Goldsmith Agio Helms.

Three Arch adds two

Michael Ellwein

and Roderick Young have joined Three Arch Partners as venture partners. Ellwein has spent the past 17 years with Medtronic, most recently as vice president and chief development officer. Young previously served as CEO of former Three Arch portfolio company Vivant Medical (which was sold to Tyco).
