Bessemer reels in Fisher

Adam Fisher

has joined Bessemer Venture Partners as a partner. He is based in the firm’s Larchmont, N.Y., office, with a focus on BVP’s Israel-related investments. He previously was a general partner with JVP. Bessemer says that this is the first time it has appointed a partner with a focus on investments in Israel, though the firm has invested in companies with offices in Israel, including Cyota, which was acquired by RSA Solutions in 2005, and Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: MLNX), which went public in February.

Jakobi to advise NEA

Karen Jakobi

, CIO and co-founder of Pathway Capital, has joined the advisory board of New Enterprise Associates’ current fund NEA 12. Before Pathway, Jakobi was the assistant treasurer at Wilshire Associates Inc., where she was responsible for all financial reporting to management and regulatory agencies. Jakobi currently sits on the advisory boards of eight venture capital and private equity firms.

Hoffman soars to Skyline Ventures

Stephen Hoffman

has joined Skyline Ventures as a managing director to help the Palo Alto, Calif.-based firm open a Boston office. Hoffman was previously a partner with TVM Capital.

In other Skyline personnel news, the firm has promoted Partners Stephen Sullivan and David Lowe each to the position of managing director. Skyline focuses on venture capital opportunities in the life sciences market, including medical devices.

Niehaus to give charge to Battery Ventures

Matt Niehaus

has joined the Menlo Park, Calif., office of Battery Ventures as a partner. He most recently was director of strategic development with Verisign, which in 2005 had acquired a company Niehaus co-founded called R4 Global Solutions.

Battery also has hired Satya Patel as a senior associate. Patel most recently was a senior product manager for Google, where he focused on the AdSense business.

Goldberg joins Benchmark as EIR

David Goldberg

has joined Benchmark Capital as an entrepreneur-in-residence. He previously was with Yahoo as vice president and general manager of Yahoo Music, and before that was co-founder of Launch Media Inc. (which was acquired by Yahoo in 2001).

Ex-Yahoo joins Accel

Andrew Braccia

has joined Accel Partners to focus on consumer Internet and software deals, particularly those with an emphasis on search, digital media and online advertising. He previously was with Yahoo as vice president of consumer Web search.

Baird hires former Apple exec

Mohan Kharbanda has joined Baird Venture Partners’ business services team as an entrepreneur-in-residence. He previously was a vice president with Apple Computer, where he led a team focused on establishing offshore operations in India and Eastern Europe.

Advent adds Mason to staff

Richard Mason has joined London-based Advent Venture Partners as an executive-in-residence, focused on the life sciences market. He previously was with Cambridge Antibody Technology PLC, as a senior vice president for business development and commercial operations.

Softbank turns to Pivot CEO as new EIR

Furqan Nazeeri

has joined SoftBank Capital as an entrepreneur-in-residence, with a focus on enterprise software and Internet applications. He most recently served as founder and CEO of Pivot Solutions, a SoftBank Capital portfolio company.

Stonehenge names banker as principal

Robert Eversole

has joined Stonehenge Partners as a principal. He has spent the past 22 years with Fifth Third Bank, most recently as president and CEO of Central Ohio and regional president for Fifth Third’s banks in Western Ohio and the Ohio Valley. Stonehenge is a Columbus, Ohio-based private equity firm.

Eversole, an Ohio native and Ohio State University graduate, said that his departure date from Fifth Third Bank has not been set.

Stolle named partner at MDV

Bryan Stolle

has joined Mohr Davidow Ventures as a partner. He is the co-founder of former MDV portfolio company Agile Software.

Genstar lassos consumer star

Perry Odak

, former CEO of Wild Oats Markets, has joined Genstar Capital as an operating partner. He will advise the firm on opportunities in the consumer products and industrial technology spaces.

Bear Stearns hires ex-ILPA director

Arlett Tygesen

has joined the Bear Stearns Asset Management as a managing director in the Private Funds group. She previously served as the first executive director of the Institutional Limited Partners Association.

Park joins Marwit as associate

Kevin Park

has joined Marwit Capital as an associate, effective June 18. He previously was an analyst with Mesirow Financial and Robertson Stephens.

Winston & Strawn adds M&A advisor

James Junewicz

has joined Winston & Strawn as a corporate partner focused on M&A transactions. He also works with startups on VC financings. Prior to entering private practice, Junewicz was assistant general counsel for the Securities and Exchange Commission. —PE Week staff
