People Moves: New CEO for BVCA

John Mackie (pictured) has been appointed as the new chief executive of the British Venture Capital Association. The vacancy arose after Ron Hollidge stepped down after two years in the role.

Mackie’s pedigree includes qualifying as a chartered accountant with Arthur Andersen in Glasgow before joining 3i in 1990 and leaving almost five years later to become a co-founding director of Morgan Grenfell Private Equity.

Mackie will manage the BVCA staff, co-ordinating the association’s lobbying programme and advising the BVCA chairman and committees.
