PhotoTLC clicked shut

PhotoTLC closed down this month and laid off its entire work force of about 170 employees. The Petaluma, Calif.-based company, which provided photo gift and restoration services, reportedly did its highest business traffic during the Christmas season, but that wasn’t enough to get in the black.

The company was founded in 2002 and had become a provider a photo services to such national retailers as Walgreens, CVS and Rite-Aid.

In 2005, the company raised a $10 million Series A round from Steamboat Ventures, El Dorado Ventures and the Bay Area Equity Fund. —Alastair Goldfisher
