PowerDsine boost

DB Capital Venture Partners, the venture capital arm of Deutsche Bank, has led a $25 million round of financing in PowerDsine, a designer and developer of software-controlled power solutions. Roberston Stephens International arranged the financing round. DB Capital Venture Partners committed $15 million. Other investors in the round included Dain Rauscher Wessels Partners, Robertson Stephens Partners and existing shareholders.

The financing will be used to support the development of PowerDsine’s Power over LAN product line. Power over LAN is a technology which enables the safe and reliable delivery of operating power, together with voice and cable on standard LAN cables.

Existing investors in the company include Jerusalem Venture Partners, Steps Ventures, Clal, Poalim Capital Markets, Ampal, Vertex, Gmulot, and the Challenge Fund.

“Power over LAN is set to become an important technology as IP telephony and other network devices realise the need for high availability power supply,” said Michael Patton, managing director and co-head of DB Capital Venture Partners. Patton joins PowerDsine’s board of directors.
