Cogent Partners, a private equity-focused investment bank, has relocated director Dominik Woessner from London to Shanghai to continue building on the firm’s presence in the region. Since joining Cogent Partners in 2007, Woessner has advised a number of global institutional investors on strategic secondary sales of private equity fund interests. Additionally, he has worked with general partners to restructure existing private equity funds in order to generate liquidity for limited partners.

Investment firm Duff & Phelps Corp has named Jacob Silverman as president of the company. Silverman was previously the company’s CFO and global investment banking leader. Robert Bartell has been named as the company’s new global investment banking leader, succeeding Silverman in the role. Earlier this year, a consortium, comprising The Carlyle Group, Stone Point Capital, Pictet & Cie and Edmund de Rothschild Group, bought Duff & Phelps for about $665.5 million.

Spencer Trask Ventures has promoted Michael Siek to president. Previously, Siek served as senior managing director at the company where he has worked for 16 years. Spencer Trask Ventures is a brokerage firm that specializes in private equity and venture capital.

Dallas-based private equity firm Trive Capital has promoted David Stinnett and added three new team members, Desmond Henry, Jared Reyes and Chase Gosselin. Stinnett has been promoted to managing director from vice president.
