PwC appts

PricewaterhouseCoopers has appointed Sir Malcolm Rifkind to its corporate finance advisory board. His role will include advice on the ongoing development of Public Private Partnership (PPP) programmes across Europe, on privatisation proposals, as well as on transactions in the defence and transport markets in the UK and abroad. He will work closely with Charles Lloyd, who leads the UK infrastructure, government and utilities team within PricewaterhouseCoopers Corporate Finance.

The corporate finance advisory board currently consists of 11 external non-executives, each with specific industrial sector knowledge gained at CEO or main board level. Roger Freeman chairs the board.

Rifkind is a non-executive director of several companies including Ramco Energy plc, F&C, British Assets Investment Trust and chairman of Alliance Medical Ltd. He was Secretary of State for Scotland from 1986 to 1990; Secretary of State for Transport from 1990 to 1992; Defence Secretary from 1992 to 1995 and Foreign Secretary from 1995 to 1997.
