Quester VCT4 closes over-subscribed

Quester, the independent UK venture capital firm has raised GBP53 million

for its fourth venture capital trust, VCT4, exceeding its original target of GBP50 million. The fund is structured along the same lines as the previous three VCTs and will be investing in a diversified portfolio of unquoted companies. Chosen investment sectors will include software, Internet, enabling technology businesses, telecoms services and equipment, semiconductors, optical networking, new media, healthcare, life sciences and new materials.

John Spooner, a director of Quester says that average investment size will be between GBP800,000 and GBP1 million and the fund will be focusing on around 30 to 40 deals. The company currently has more than GBP300 million under management.
