Say hello to new Buyouts reporter Teddy Grant

Hello!

My name is Teddy Grant and I have just joined Buyouts to cover pension funds and family offices. I earned my master’s degree in journalism at the City University of New York Graduate School of Journalism in 2017. Prior to joining ALPs, I was the culture and political writer for Ebony magazine. My work has also appeared on NBC’s owned-and-operated stations and DNAInfo, which covers local neighborhood news in New York City.

Now you may be asking yourself, “Why does he want to cover pensions?” Well, business journalism is something I am genuinely interested in. During my time at CUNY, I concentrated on business and economic reporting. The more I researched, reported and interviewed sources, the greater my appreciation for the field grew.

Joining ALPs allows me to bring the skills that I’ve learned in the past few years and to build on them.

I am looking to dive deep into the world of pensions and private equity, and to deliver solid, accurate and relevant stories within the industry. I want to peel back the layers of family offices to give readers a better understanding of a beat that’s not only emerging, but exciting.
