Avec Capital, a New York private placement firm that works with private equity and alternative assets funds, has appointed Christine Kelleher as a managing director. Kelleher joins the firm from Georgetown University Investment Office in Washington, D.C., which oversees the management of the university’s $1.1 billion endowment and where Kelleher was a senior investment officer.

Michael J. Barrett has joined placement agent De Luna Partners as a partner. Barrett will be involved in all facets of De Luna Partners origination and fundraising for private equity, alternative assets funds, and global equity strategies. Barrett was previously managing director, private equity at Mesirow Financial in Chicago.

Latham & Watkins has appointed David Walker to the firm’s London office as a partner in the corporate department. Walker is an M&A lawyer with a particular focus on private equity work. He joins Latham & Watkins from Clifford Chance in London.

Andrew Guida has joined Macquarie Capital as a managing director focused on bank and thrift and specialty finance within the financial institutions group. He will be based in New York. Guida joins from FBR & Co., where he was an managing director in its financial institutions group.

The New York asset manager PineBridge Investments announced that Jason Fisher joined the firm as senior vice president, head of consultant relations for the Americas and Europe. He will be based in Los Angeles and report to John Baumann, head of institutional sales and client service, Americas and Europe. Most recently, Fisher was at JPMorgan Asset Management where he held a number of senior sales and consultant positions over the last decade.

Law firm Sidley Austin, which is headquartered in New York, has hired Gregory Salathé as a partner in its Singapore office. Salathé is now a member of the firm’s M&A practice, and will reside in Singapore after a transition period in Tokyo. He was most recently a partner at the law firm Morgan Lewis, where he was a co-managing partner of the firm’s Tokyo office.
