Michael Ozawa has joined Avant Advisory Group as a partner and managing director. He will continue to focus on transaction advisory and distresses/special situations. Avant Advisory is a mid-market focused operations and financial advisory management consulting firm. Previously, he was a senior managing director in the Corporate Finance division at FTI Consulting.

Los Angeles-based commercial lender CapitalSource has appointed Michael Broderick as a director to lead the health care leveraged finance group. Broderick will oversee origination and execution of all health care transactions and will be based in the firm’s Boston office, reporting to Ryan Golding, managing director, leveraged finance.

European corporate finance advisory firm DC Advisory Partners has appointed Terry Huffine as executive director in its European consumer, leisure and retail team based in London. Huffine will focus on the food and beverage subsector, an area where he has specialized for the last seven years. He joins following eight years with ABN AMRO, later acquired by the Royal Bank of Scotland, where he was a director on the consumer team.

Financial services investment bank KBW has appointed Charles Lucas as head of European equity capital markets. Lucas will oversee public and private placements of common stock and other hybrid equity securities. He will be based in London and report directly to Vasco Moreno, KBW’s CEO.

Societe Generale Private Banking has appointed Antoine Blouin as chief investment officer of Societe Generale Private Banking (Suisse). He replaces Olivier Aubenas, who becomes commercial director and member of the executive committee of the private bank in Switzerland. Blouin will be responsible for managing the private bank’s investment teams and supervising the local asset allocation committee. He will also be in charge of the management and development of the product and services offering for the clients of Societe Generale Private Banking (Suisse) SA and its subsidiaries.

UBS, the Swiss bank that last month suffered the departure of some of its most senior dealmakers in the U.S., has hired the former head of Bank of America‘s buyout arm to bolster its deals coverage, Reuters reported. UBS said in an internal memo that Jim Forbes, a veteran banker who has raised more than $100 billion in financing for companies and advised on more than $120 billion of merger and acquisition deals, would join the bank as vice chairman at UBS Group Americas.

Brian Vowinkel was appointed regional managing director for the Ascent Private Capital Management unit of U.S. Bank in Seattle. He reports to Michael Cole, president of Ascent Private Capital Management. Vowinkel previously headed his own firm, Ranger Select.
