Credit manager CIFC Corp has hired Peter McLaughlin as a managing director in its capital markets and distribution team. McLaughlin was formerly the head of originations for Longroad Asset Management. Prior to that, he was with Gottex Fund Management, where he led loan origination for the firm’s mid-market private debt fund. He also worked at Contrarian Capital Finance as a director.

Cipperman Compliance Services has made three new recruits. Alyssa Garie, who joined as a manager, joined CCS from Mondrian Investment Partners, a $70 billion AUM asset manager with global distribution. LuAnne Garvey, who joined as director, is a senior compliance professional who most recently spent more than 10 years at PFPC (now BNY Mellon). Emily Silva, who joined as director, spent nearly 15 years at the Vanguard Group, where she worked in a variety of compliance management positions. Based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, Cipperman works with private equity firms and other funds as an independent entity offering third-party perspective on regulatory compliance. The firm is headed by Todd Cipperman, former general counsel of SEI Investments.

Equity Risk Partners has added a new unit, Healthcare Risk, aimed at services for private equity firms in the healthcare industry. Eleven of the firm’s 52 employees are now assigned to Healthcare Risk, led by Scott Pachtman, vice president, and including new hire Mike Cardenas, vice president, who previously worked in the medical professional liability unit at Allied World Assurance Co.

Cincinnati investment firm HORAN Capital Advisors has hired Dale Wiethe as a senior portfolio manager. Previously, Wiethe worked at Merrill Lynch and several regional banks. HORAN Capital Advisors focuses on high net worth and institutional asset management clients.

New York-based investment bank Lampert Capital Markets has hired Tobias Lenza as managing director of equity capital markets. Lenza worked as a Nasdaq market maker responsible for more than 100 securities as head trader of savant trading. Lampert Capital Markets is a subsidiary of Lampert Debt Advisors, an institutional debt advisory firm.

Oleg Sabel has joined the British law firm Otterbourg PC as a member of the firm in the real estate group. Sabel’s practice focuses on the buying, selling and financing of a range of properties, including multi-family residential complexes, office buildings, hotels, health care facilities and retail centers. He comes to the firm from Hogan Lovells.

Houston-based U.S. Capital Advisors has hired Mark Casey as a managing director. Previously, Casey worked at Merrill Lynch’s private banking and investment group in the Southwest,  where he served as regional managing director. U.S. Capital Advisors is an integrated financial services boutique with primary business lines in wealth management and capital markets.

Chicago investment bank Verit Advisors has hired Carey Chen as a senior adviser. Chen was previously general manager of light industrial businesses at Hypertherm.
