Alasdair Maclay has joined Sovereign Capital as an investment manager.
He recently completed an MBA at INSEAD and was previously at Bain & company for two years with part of that time spent in South Africa where he was a strategy consultant and private equity advisor in a small start-up in Cape Town. This was followed by a short stint at Morgan Stanley Dean Witter in its investment banking division.
Maclay brings private equity experience together with industry expertise across a range of sectors that will enable him to contribute fully to the completion of the investment of Sovereign Capital Limited Partnership II, and to Sovereign Capital Limited Partnership III. The former is 72 per cent invested and the latter will have its first closing in spring 2001 and has a target of GBP100 million.
