SVG breaks glass ceiling

UK private equity and fund management business SVG has appointed Lynn Fordham as chief executive, making her the most prominent female chief executive in the industry.

Fordham was promoted from finance director, having joined the firm in July 2008.

As part of her new role, Fordham will be responsible for reshaping SVG’s strategy to make it a more formidable force in the current market. She faces an uphill battle as the private equity firm recently wrote down its portfolio by 64%. SVG, which invests 75% of its funds into Permira, also announced that it will not be making any new investments for two years.
