SVLS detaches from Schroders network

Schroder Ventures Life Sciences has separated from the Schroders worldwide network and set up new e-mail addresses for its team. This is a logistic formality following the group’s move to new London premises this summer.

The venture was set up in 1994 as the dedicated life sciences arm of Schroder Ventures and continues to use the Schroders name while working as an independent entity. Unlike Permira, the former Schroder Ventures Europe business, which recently changed its name to assume a self-standing brand identity, SVLS has no immediate plans for a name change. The business distinguishes itself with its sector focus, rather than the regional focus of other Schroder Ventures funds. The fund continues to collaborate with Schroder Ventures in its specialised segment of life sciences.

Other businesses under the Schroder Ventures umbrella include Schroder Ventures Asia, Schroder Ventures North America, and Schroder Ventures International Investment Trust fund-of-funds business, which was set up earlier this year see evcj October, page 14. They all continue to use the Schroders name, but are also independent entities.
