SYIF appoints

South Yorkshire Investment Fund (SYIF) has appointed Tony Parsons as a new board member. Parsons, who has 35 years in the banking profession, was formally the director of commercial banking at the Royal Bank of Scotland in South Yorkshire.

He has lived and worked in the South Yorkshire region since 1987 and says: “I know the area very well and am very much aware of both the business and commercial issues affecting the area. I look forward to bringing my experience to the fund and hope that I can help them continue with their success.”

Parsons is a trustee at both Magna, the science education centre, and Help a Hallam Child, the charity supported by Hallam FM to help children across South Yorkshire and the North Midlands.

SYIF has also recently appointed Paul Firth as the chairman of SYIF’s Partners Group. Firth, the office managing partner at lawyers DLA in Sheffield, will chair the Partners Group which offers guidance and strategy advice to the South Yorkshire Investment Fund.
